Formula E Race Begins, Circuit Festival Spectators Are Willing To Heat Up And Without Seating

JAKARTA - The Formula E race has been held since 15.00 western Indonesia time. The weather at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) was still quite hot.

However, this did not dampen the intention of a number of spectators in the Circuit Festival category who were willing to heat up to be near the circuit arena to watch electric car races.

Circuit Festival is a spectator area within the circuit area that is not given a seat to sit while watching the race. Tickets in this category are sold for IDR 450 thousand excluding tax.

A spectator in the Circuit Festival category named Adit, 33 years old, admitted that he was willing to sweat in the hot sun while watching the race. Adit did not provide an umbrella when he came to watch the race at the circuit.

Apart from liking Formula car racing, Adit also wanted to see firsthand how a Formula E racing car drove up close.

"The racing was fun. The audience also cheered when the racing car passed," said Adit when met by VOI at the location, Saturday, June 4.

Adit chose a viewing location near the final corner of the track before the finish line. According to him, this location is the most interesting to see.

"The atmosphere is also exciting, especially the position at the end of the corner watching electric cars race," he said.

The Formula E event has a different format from the Formula 1 race which is usually held three days in a row. For Formula E, each series is only held on one day, starting from free practice, qualifying to race.

For the ninth series in Jakarta, the agenda begins with free practice (FP)1 starting at 07.15 - 07.45 western Indonesia time. Next, there is the FP 2 schedule which starts at 09.00 - 09.30 western Indonesia time, then the qualifying round is at 10.40 - 11.15 western Indonesia time and on the same day, the race schedule takes place at 15.00 western Indonesia time.
