More Than 44 Thousand Residents Crowded Monas Sambut New Year

JAKARTA - More than 44 thousand residents have arrived in the National Monument (Monas) area as one of the favorite tourist attractions in Jakarta to welcome the New Year 2025.

"Data from 06.00-18.00 WIB was recorded as 44,366 people visited the Monas area to celebrate the turn of this year," said Monas Head of the Regional Management Unit (UPK), Muhammad Isa Sarnuri, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 31.

The more than 44,000 visitors consist of 159 foreign tourists (tourists) and 44,207 domestic tourists. The number of visitors from within the country consists of 28,615 adult visitors and 15,493 children.

"The most foreign tourists are from China as many as 73 people, Germany there are 15 people, England there are 7 people and there are also from Saudi Arabia, Spain, Singapore, France, the Netherlands, and so on," said Isa.

Some visitors among them took pictures (posing) in front of Monas to sit relaxed in the Monas area with their family, relatives and friends while issuing supplies.

In the context of the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year (Nataru) holidays, Monas managers present video "mapping" to the entertainment stage.

The public can enjoy special Monas Night Tours during holidays that have been available since December 14, 2024 with different Monas Monument visiting operating hours for weekends and normal days.

The public can enjoy the beautiful view of the city of Jakarta with its lights from the Monas Monument at night.

The police deployed 3,202 joint personnel to guard the crowd on New Year's Eve 2025 in Central Jakarta.

"The strength of the involvement of security personnel is 3,202 personnel to secure the night of the 2025 New Year celebration in the Central Jakarta area," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Police Susatyo Purnomo Condro when confirmed in Jakarta, Tuesday.

The joint personnel came from Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro Central Jakarta, TNI, Provincial Government (Pemprov) DKI and related agencies. The personnel were placed in a number of locations in Central Jakarta.
