NTT - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) provided assistance to disaster victims in East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT) worth IDR 687 million. The assistance in the form of goods was handed over by the Head of BNPB Lieutenant General Suharyanto to the Deputy Governor of NTT Josef A Nae Soi in Kupang, Thursday 12 May.

The handover of aid was carried out during a monitoring and evaluation meeting on the progress of distribution of housing stimulant aid for residents affected by the Seroja Tropical Cyclone natural disaster in NTT.

The assistance provided was for a number of areas affected by Seroja such as Kupang City, South Central Timor Regency, Malacca Regency, and Sabu Raijua Regency.

The assistance for the NTT Provincial Government consists of a rescue car unit, 174 nutritional supplementary food packages, 110 baby equipment packages, 68 family equipment packages, 98 family hygiene packages, 3.600 masks, 65 body bags, and 67 blankets.

"The total assistance provided reached more than IDR 687 million. We hope that this assistance will be useful for this area in carrying out natural disaster management efforts," said Suharyanto.

Assistance was also given to the Kupang City Government in the form of a tank car, TTS Regency with two sets of refugee tents, Malacca Regency with a field kitchen trailer, and Sabu Raijua Regency with a pick-up car.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of NTT Josef A Nae Soi expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by the central government through the BNPB.

He hopes that BNPB will continue to provide assistance and assist the NTT province when experiencing natural disasters, non-natural disasters and social disasters.
