JAKARTA - Chairman of the Syuro Council of the Ummat Party, Amien Rais, assessed that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, acted like reckless leaders. He suggested the two go to a psychologist.

"I see the political plays, which are shown by Jokowi-Luhut, are getting more and more crazier. More and more reckless", said Amien, quoted by Amien Rais Official, Sunday, April 3.
Amien said Jokowi had shown his ability to lead the people so far. He considers Jokowi incompetent so that divisions arise in the community, and various criminalization efforts have been made against ulama.
For this reason, Amien emphasized that Jokowi must stop as president at the end of his term in 2024. Regarding the discourse on extending the presidential term to three terms, which has recently been widely voiced by several party elites including Coordinating Minister Luhut, Amien considers it beyond logic.
This idea violates the constitution, especially Article 7 of the 1945 Constitution which stipulates the time limit for the president and vice president in power for a maximum of two terms, namely 10 years.
"The 1945 Constitution clearly states that our president can only be elected twice. But now we want to force it to hold an MPR session. I think the direction is to change history, (this is) very reckless, (even) more than that, very evil", he insisted.
