Indonesia Adds 19 Countries For Tourist Visit Visas

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum HAM) has added 19 countries to the service for opening a visit visa on arrival or Visa on Arrival (VoA) specifically for tourism for 19 countries.

"From previously only 23 countries, currently VoA specifically for Bali tourism is opened for 42 countries," said Director of Immigration Traffic at the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Amran Aris, in a written statement received in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 22.

In addition, said Amran, at the same time a special VoA for tourism in the Riau Archipelago was applied with a different country subject.

"Currently, VoA specifically for tourism has only been applied to foreigners who land in Bali and the Riau Islands," he said as quoted by Antara.

This means that foreign tourists can leave the territory of Indonesia through any immigration checkpoint (TPI) and do not have to go through Bali or the Riau Islands.

Countries whose citizens can enter Bali using a visit visa on arrival or a special tourist VoA are South Africa, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil.

Next comes Brunei Darussalam, Denmark, Philippines, Finland, Hungary, India, UK, Italy, Japan, Germany, Cambodia, Canada, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Norway, France, Poland, Qatar, and New Zealand.

Then, Seychelles, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, China, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and finally Vietnam.

For special travel VoA rates, which are IDR 500 thousand in accordance with Government Regulation No. 28 of 2019. Tourists must prepare a passport that is still valid for at least six months.

This includes return tickets or canal tickets to continue traveling to other countries as well as other documents required by the COVID-19 Task Force, explained Amran.

He explained that a residence permit originating from a special tourist VoA is a visit stay permit granted for a maximum period of 30 days, and can be extended at most once.

"The stay permit from VoA specifically for tourism cannot be transferred," he said.
