Good News, Four Depok Residents Have Recovered From The Omicron Variant

DEPOK - Depok Mayor Mohammad Idris previously clarified information about six Depok residents who were attacked by Omicron. He stated that only four Depok residents were infected with the coronavirus variant.

Now Idris said that four Depok residents who were infected with the SARS-CoV-2 variant B.1.1.529 or Omicron coronavirus were declared cured.

"So now there are no more Depok residents exposed to the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 case," said Idris, quoting Antara, Wednesday, January 11.

According to him, the Depok residents who were first infected with Omicron were foreign travelers and were immediately quarantined in Jakarta as soon as they arrived in the country. The second resident who was infected with the coronavirus variant was also known to have contracted the virus while abroad.

While the fourth resident who was infected with Omicron only traveled domestically and the fifth Depok resident who was infected with Omicron was the grandmother of the third patient.

Idris said that on January 11, 2022, Depok residents who were still undergoing self-isolation were 37 people.

According to data published on the Depok City Government's official website, as of Tuesday afternoon, January 11, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Depok City totaled 105.891 with a total of 103,700 patients who had recovered, a total of 2.172 patients who died, and patients who had recovered. 19 people are still undergoing treatment and/or quarantine.
