West Bangka Police Controlling Illegal Tin Mining Activities

MENTOK - A team from the West Bangka Police Resort, Bangka Belitung Islands, has curbed the illegal mining of tin ore located in Belolaut Village, Mentok.

"We have to regulate the illegal tin ore mining activity because of the location in the watershed and mangrove forest area in Belolaut Village, we hope the miners are deterrent and do not repeat their actions," said Head of Operations Section of the West Bangka Police, Kompol Evry Susanto in Mentok, quoted by Antara, Monday. , November 15th.

Controlling illegal mining activities at this location has been carried out and activities have stopped for a few days, but recently mining activities have occurred again at that location.

In controlling illegal mining activities in the Semusuk River, Belolaut, the police managed to find evidence in the form of three mining machines.

"In carrying out today's enforcement activities, the personnel still prioritize their own safety and avoid the possibility of anarchy. The personnel continue to prioritize the humanist pattern," he said.

During the control, the police did not find any mining activity and only found a three-unit robin machine and a spiral hose. "Furthermore, the evidence was secured at the West Bangka Police Headquarters," he said.

Kompol Evry explained that tin ore mining activities at that location violated the law related to mining and forest destruction.

Activities at that location violate Law No. 18 of 2013 concerning Prevention and eradication of forest destruction, and Law No. 3 of 2020 concerning Amendments to Law No. 4 of 2009 concerning Minerba.

"We hope that in the future there will be no more illegal mining activities at that location and that the community will truly obey the existing rules," he said.
