1.5 Meter Cobra And 5 Cubs Found Inside Resident's House In Pasar Rebo

JAKARTA - Residents on Beret Biru IV Street, RT 03/07, Kalisari Village, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta, were shaken by a one and a half meter long cobra in the residents' yard.

In fact, after being examined the cobra already has a nest with 5 children. Concerned residents immediately reported to the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-department (Sudin Gulkarmat) officers, so that the dangerous snake was immediately evacuated.

Head of the Operations Section of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, said the snake evacuation process was carried out from two points, namely inside the house and the yard.

"One cobra in the yard of a resident's house is quite extreme, because this one parent cobra is one and a half meters long and four chicks are found to be 25 centimeters long", said Gatot to reporters, Monday, November 15.

According to Gatot, the snake's nest was found in the backyard of the house with a narrow area, making the evacuation process difficult.

"The place is quite narrow, when we surveyed the broodstock was also there. Due to the narrow area, the team had to be careful because we are afraid of cobras bursting", he said.

Although there were problems, the rescue team managed to evacuate the mother snake and its five cubs.

"Alhamdulillah, with great care, we were able to evacuate the mother cobra and her cubs. Meanwhile, another cobra was also found in the gap in the cupboard in the house with a length of 40 centimeters", said Gatot.

Although a cobra's nest was found, continued Gatot, there were no local residents who were victims of the snake bite.

"We will contact snake lovers to be quarantined so that they are released back into their natural habitat", he said.
