Police Thwart The Sale And Purchase Of Drugs Under The Sei Alalak Bridge Which Was Inaugurated By Jokowi Last October 21

JAKARTA - Banjarmasin Police, South Kalimantan (Kalsel) Regional Police thwarted drug transactions under the Sei Alalak Bridge. This bridge was inaugurated by President Jokowi on October 21, 2021.

"Suspect MS (40) was caught holding a package of methamphetamine weighing 2.38 grams which was planned to be sold to buyers on Thursday (11/11)," said Head of the Banjarmasin Narcotics Research Unit, Kompol Mars Suryo Kartiko, Monday, November 15, quoted from Antara.

The police then carried out the development by searching the suspect's house, on Jalan Alalak Utara, Banjarmasin City. Another 14 packets of methamphetamine were found weighing 195.75 grams.

The police seized from the man's hands a total of 15 packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing 198.13 grams.

For this evidence, investigators ensnared the suspect in Article 112 and or 114 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a minimum penalty of 4 years and a maximum sentence of death.

Mars Suryo confirmed that the drug trafficking case was still being developed to reveal the network of dealers who controlled the suspect.

Regarding the Sei Alalak Bridge area that connects Banjarmasin City and Barito Kuala Regency which is used as the location of the transaction, he appealed to the public to participate in monitoring the local environment if there are suspicious movements to immediately provide information to the police.

"We are grateful for the participation of the community in efforts to eradicate drug trafficking because the police cannot work alone without the help of all parties," said Mars Suryo.

The Sei Alalak Bridge has been awaited by the people of South Kalimantan because of its very strategic function. The Sei Alalak Bridge has a very important function as the main access route for Banjarmasin City with various areas in South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan.

The Sei Alalak Bridge which has a length of 850 meters and a width of 20 meters was built with a fund of IDR 278 billion. The cable stayed bridge was also built using high technology.
