Recruiting Casemiro Is The Way To Keep Cristiano Ronaldo At Al Nassr?

JAKARTA - Cristiano Ronaldo has asked his club Al-Nassr to sign Casemiro from Manchester United.

This could be a determining factor in his future at the Saudi Arabian Pro League club. However, the question is whether the 39-year-old Portuguese player will play in Saudi Arabia for a long time?

The Portuguese football star has entered the last six months of his contract with Al-Nassr and is said to be considering moving to another club.

With Casemiro, Ronaldo won 12 trophies at Real Madrid, including the Champions League four times and two league titles. They meet again at Manchester United led by Erik Ten Hag.

Spanish sports newspaper Marca reported last year that moving to MLS (Major League Soccer) is a possible choice for Ronaldo, who will turn 40 next month.

Conquering the United States has proven to be an attractive option for some of the world's best players, including tough rivals Lionel Messi.

Al Nassr officials are actually confident they can keep Ronaldo, whatever happens. Recruiting Casemiro will also increase their hopes of defending Ronaldo.

Apparently, Ronaldo will stay longer in Saudi Arabia considering he is the 2032 World Cup ambassador to be held in the country.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo has just brought Al Nassr to victory in the inaugural 2025 match in the Saudi Arabian Pro League.

He contributed one goal in a 3-1 win over Al Okhdood on Friday, January 10, 2025, early morning WIB.

The goal marked the 24th year in a row he scored in professional football.

The 39-year-old converted a penalty for Al Nassr's second goal, flanked by two goals from former Liverpool striker Sadio Mane.

Ronaldo also expressed his joy in a tweet on his personal X account.

"The best way to start the year," wrote the Portuguese player.

His first goal came in October 2002 for Sporting CP, scoring twice as his team beat Moreirense in Primeira Liga (Private League).

Since then, he has garnered more than 900 goals throughout his career for Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al Nassr, and the Portugal National Team.

Al Nassr's victory brought them back to third place in the Saudi Arabian Pro League standings despite their points equal to Al Qadsiah, who had one more game.

Stefano Pioli's side are eight points behind leaders Al Ittihad, who also have one game more.

Cristiano Ronaldo has ambitions to survive for Al Nassr because he has not given many trophies. He has only presented one trophy at the 2023 Arab Club Championship.

In fact, he hasn't even got the title of the Saudi Arabian Pro League yet. Therefore, Ronaldo wants to survive in realizing the dream as well as continuing his journey to achieve his 1,000th goal in his professional career.
