JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the State Financial Accountability Agency (BAKN) of the Indonesian House of Representatives Herman Khaeron said the DPR had scheduled a meeting with the government to discuss the evaluation of the implementation of the free nutritious eating program (MBG) which began for the first time since Monday, January 6.

The meeting, he said, would be held after the First Recess Period of the 2024-2025 Session Year of the DPR RI ended on January 20.

Hero said the DPR would conduct a thorough evaluation of the implementation of the inaugural MBG program simultaneously in 26 provinces to improve and improve its performance in order to achieve what is a common hope.

"This is so that this program is really successful, this program achieves its goals, this program reaches the target," he said.

As a massive program carried out simultaneously in the provinces of the country, he said, it is a natural thing if at the beginning of its implementation there were still a number of shortcomings and not optimally.

"Yes, it's normal at the beginning of a massive program, this is a massive program, almost in all regions, then reaching a very large number, of course at the beginning of the implementation of activities there will definitely be things that certainly don't match expectations or are not as optimal as desired," he said.

In order for the program to run optimally, according to him, it requires processes and stages to be slowly able to achieve the targeted target of beneficiaries.

"Gradually then towards the idealistic figure we reach the target and the target, of course there must be stages that we must do," he said.

He considered that the DPR RI had an interest in participating in the successful implementation of the MBG program because it was a state program that provided long-term benefits in order to create Indonesia's superior generation.

"This is a state program so that if the budget is not sufficient, let's sit back, comb back from where the budget can then be sufficient for the ideal budget for MBG," he said.

On the other hand, if there are still many obstacles in terms of commodity availability, availability of raw materials, in movement, in filling certain areas that require sufficient transportation support, he invites all parties to help implement the MBG program.
