Tesla Model Y Facelift Introduced In China, What's The Difference?

JAKARTA - Tesla has finally officially introduced the long-awaited Model Y Facelift in China, where the model gets design and price changes compared to its predecessor.

Quoting from the CNevpost page, Friday, January 10, referring to Tesla's official website in China, it features an updated Model Y, and is offered in two variants. Its shipment is expected to begin in March this year.

The two variants that Tesla offers for the facelift model are rear-wheel drive versions which are priced at 263,500 yuan or around Rp. 581 million, while the driving of all wheels is at 303,500 yuan or Rp. 670 million.

In comparison, the Tesla model Y previously in China comes in three variants, which are priced the cheapest at 249,900 yuan or IDR 551 million. Thus, the price of the lowest variant rose.

In design, the most prominent change to Facelift's Model Y is its exterior design, which takes inspiration from robotaxi Cybertruck and Cybercab using a new forward light design.

In addition, it offers a length of 4,797 mm, a width of 1,920 mm, and a height of 1,624 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,890 mm. Both variants weigh 1,921 kg and 1,992 kg.

The rear wheel drive version is powered by a 62.5 kWh battery and has a CLTC range of 593 kilometers, up 39 kilometers from its predecessor 554 kilometers.

The variant is powered by a back electric motor with a peak power of 220 kW and is capable of running 0 to 100 kilometers per hour within 5.3 seconds, better than its predecessor which was 5.9 seconds. The driving version of all long-range wheels is powered by a battery with a capacity of 78.4 kWh and has a CLTC range of 719 kilometers, an increase of 31 kilometers compared to its predecessor of 688 kilometers.

Tesla Model Y Facelift is equipped with Tesla's most advanced Autopilot Hardware 4.0 (AI4) hardware, which is certainly capable of providing new experiences for users.

Tesla offers gray exterior color, but for other colors consumers have to spend another 8,000 yuan or Rp17 million for white and blue, while for red and perah 12,000 yuan or Rp26 million.
