As A Producer, Cillian Murphy Is Confirmed Not To Appear In 28 Years Later

JAKARTA - It seems that fans' desire to see Cillian Murphy in the 28 Days Later franchise has not been realized. Producer Andrew Macdonald said Murphy did not appear in the latest film.

Although Murphy is an executive producer, he did not participate in acting either as well as being a cameo.

"In this film, we want him (Cillian Murphy) to be involved and he also wants to be involved," Andrew Macdonald told Empire.

"He wasn't in the first film, but I hope there will be Jim in the future," he said.

Macdonald hopes Murphy can make his appearance in the latest unplanned film, while 28 Years Later will air this year.

"He is currently involved as executive producer and I hope we can work with him in the future in his trilogy," Macdonald said.

Cillian Murphy starred 28 Days Later which aired in 2002 as Jim, a cycling package carrier built with the virus that threatens London. He is not back in the sequel, 28 Weeks Later which aired in 2007.

When the trailer for the 28 Years Later film was released, not a few netizens suspected that one of them was Cillian Murphy because of his similar face. It turned out that the figure was not Murphy but Angus Neill who claimed to be an extra player who felt that many people misunderstood the photo.

"I showed the trailer to my head and he said 'People will think it's Cillian' but I care about it," said Angus Neill.

The 28 Years Later film is planned to air on June 20, followed by a sequel on January 16, 2026.
