Anticipating The Third Wave Of COVID-19, Bekasi Prepares 3 Central Isolation Locations

BEKASI - The Bekasi Regency COVID-19 Handling Policy Committee, West Java confirmed that it is still preparing three centralized isolation places for patients exposed to the Coronavirus who are undergoing treatment. This location is also an effort to anticipate the third wave of the spread of COVID.

"In addition to being used for the treatment of active patients, we have prepared these three centralized isolation places to anticipate the third wave which is predicted to hit Indonesia in late to early next year", said Deputy Chair of the Bekasi Regency COVID-19 Policy Committee, Kombes Hendra Gunawan in Cikarang, Antara, Friday, November 5th.

He said the three centralized isolation places that were still on alert were the Ibis Budget Hotel and Citra Inn in South Cikarang District and the Ibis Style Hotel in Jababeka, North Cikarang.

Meanwhile, the luxury housing complexes of Beverly Hills Jababeka, Cikarang Health Training Center, and Wisma President University are no longer used as centralized isolation locations.

"In addition to the three hotels, they are no longer used following a very significant decline in the number of active cases recently", he said.

Hendra admitted that currently, the majority of COVID-19 patients prefer to undergo independent isolation in their respective homes so that only a handful of patients are accommodated in centralized isolation.

"There are only three patients in centralized isolation but that doesn't mean the pandemic is over", he said.

He asked the public to continue implementing strict health protocols considering that since the decrease in the level of COVID-19 alertness in Bekasi Regency to level 1, there has been an increase in community activity.

"Don't be careless and still obey strict health protocols, especially when doing activities outside the home", he said.

Based on data as of Friday, the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases in Bekasi Regency since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 51,306 cases, with details of 50,731 people being declared cured, 542 people, dying, and 33 active cases being exposed to the Coronavirus.
