Sukatani is in the spotlight after apologizing and withdrawing the song 'Pay Pay' which is widely discussed because of the lyrics that contain criticism of police officers who work and act for the sake of payment' aka bribery.

The lyrics of the song read, "Want to make a driver's license, pay the police / ticket on the road, pay the police / touring a big motorbike, pay the police / Angkot to check, pay the police / Aduh, oh my, I don't have money to pay the police"

Sukatani's profile is a punk duo formed in Purbalingga, Central Java in 2022. This group consists of Novi Citra Indriyati alias Twister Angel (vocals) and Muhammad Syifa Al Lutfi alias Alectroguy (guitar).

The name Sukatani is a distinctive name of a very beautiful and prosperous village, because the values contained in it are embodied by this music group.

Sukatani first departed from the passion for music for the vocalist named Ovi. He is a member of a music group from Purwokerto since 2013, which is still active today. In the midst of his busyness as a laborer and vocalist of his music group, Ovi tries to channel his unstoppable music desire through the writing of several lyrics which are mostly inspired by his anxiety in social distortions in his environment.

After that, Ovi conveyed the lyrics to his colleague named Al in response to these materials. In combining various elements to produce Sukatani songs, they were heavily influenced by several anarcho-punk bands in the 1980s and several bands from the initial proto-punk wave.

The first full album, Gempita's 'Gempita' was introduced to the public on July 24, 2023. The album contains eight songs before 'Pay Paying' was finally withdrawn from circulation.

Sukatani is known for its distinctive appearance using balklava and often distribute vegetables to the audience when appearing, as a symbol of support for the agrarian movement.

This group achieved its popularity among the country's punk music in 2024. They even got a stage at the big 2014 Synchronize Fest.
