Learning From Taylor Swift Concert In Singapore, Indonesia Prepares Tourism Funds For World Class Events

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno called Taylor Swift's concert in Singapore six days as a lesson.

Taylor Swift only appeared in Singapore for The Eras Tour this year in the Southeast Asia region. This is due to the role of the government in providing financial support to make special agreements.

"There are parties who criticize because only Singapore can host Taylor Swift's concert, but for me this is a correction," said Sandiaga Uno through his Instagram upload, seen Thursday, March 7.

Inspired by what the Singapore government has done in bringing in Taylor Swift, Sandiaga believes that the Indonesia Tourism Fund is currently able to help music promoters to present concerts from great foreign musicians.

"It will be disbursed as much as IDR 2 trillion this year," he said.

Furthermore, Sandiaga mentioned the possibility of collaboration with Singapore, considering that Indonesia has great audience potential.

"Maybe in the future we can work together, because the number of viewers from Indonesia must be a lot," said Sandi.

The cooperation can be in the form of sharing concert locations, such as four days in Singapore and two days in Indonesia.

He also added that he would hold a meeting with Singapore to discuss the potential for future cooperation within the scope of ASEAN cooperation.
