JAKARTA - The Polish extreme metal band Behemoth has extended its contract with Nuclear Blast. Not only that, this rock record label will now distribute Behemoth's music worldwide outside of its home country.

Behemoth originally signed with Nuclear Blast Europe before releasing the album Evangelion in 2009. However, their next album - temporarily set for a fall 2021 release - will be their first album to be released by a label outside Old Continent.

Formed in 1991 by then-teen guitarist/vocalist Adam "Nergal" Darski, Behemoth smashed Europe's underground metal scene due to a combination of aggressive world tours, fiery and theatrical live performances, visually captivating music videos, and intense unwavering music.

The album Demigod (2005) was inducted into Decibel magazine's Hall Of Fame, while The Satanist (2014) was praised by Metal Hammer as the greatest extreme metal album of the 21st century.

Not only this, but the last album was also named as one of the two Behemoth records to achieve gold-certified status in Poland. This propelled the blackened death metal troop to fly to the heights which previously thought unattainable.

The release gave the group the powerful ammunition to conquer any audience on its way, whether to support the performances of their childhood heroes like Ozzy Osbourne, Slayer, and Danzig; on some of the biggest metal festival stages around the world; or more recently, in the European arena with fellow subversive Slipknot.

Despite efforts by the religious community in Poland to silence Behemoth who often insulted religion, they firmly refused to compromise.

"Nuclear Blast has been a household name in metal for decades, and Behemoth has been part of a long and illustrious history," he said. "But now is about the future, and we look forward to starting the next chapter of Behemoth with a focused and revitalized team at Nuclear Blast!"
