Ananda Badudu Ensures Banda Neira Reunion With Rara Sekar Will Not Happen

JAKARTA - Banda Neira became one of the favorite duo music groups for young people in the 2010s.

From 2012 to 2017, Ananda Badudu and Rara Sekar released two albums, Running Further (2013) and Breaking Growth, Missing Replaced (2016).

Recently, Ananda Badudu also talked about the possibility that she and Rara Sekar had reunited through Banda Neira.

Through uploads on his Instagram account, he made sure that the reunion would not happen.

"I don't want to give ambiguous messages and expectations that hang on the public, so I better state with certainty, that until whenever, the reunion between me and Rara under the name Banda Neira will not happen," Ananda Badudu wrote in her upload, seen Sunday, October 1.

However, Ananda Badudu said her former duet partner would not mind using the name Banda Neira in a performance, as was the last time this had happened at the 2023 Partypora.

"But Rara supports wherever Banda Neira wants to be brought in the future. That yesterday at @partypora we revived by bringing the name Banda Neira, it could also happen because of Rara's support," he continued.

Ananda Badudu also realized that what Banda Neira listeners had hoped for did not have to happen.

He said what happened was a form of maturity.

"If I and Rara walk away now and will not reunite again, consider it a bitter maturity. A part of accepting that not everyone hopes it must be fulfilled," he said.

Reflecting on Banda Neira's journey, Ananda Badudu said what she had experienced with Rara Sekar through music began with low self-esteem and ended with a discovery of self-resolution.

Rara and I started our work trip in Banda Neira with a low-minded mind. Consider ourselves forever amateurs with mediocre musical abilities," Ananda said.

"But now I think we both have moved and from that thought. For me, after so many years of processing, low-lying thoughts were replaced with feelings of finding and recovering. Music and works can actually help us grow," he continued.

At the end of his statement, Ananda Badudu stated that the path he chose with Rara Sekar regarding Banda Neira was different.
