The vocalist and guitarist who had become a legend in the country's thrash metal world died on Sunday, September 3 at 16.55 at the Fatmawati Central General Hospital (RSUP), South Jakarta.
Derry Sulaiman, a former guitarist for Betrayer who now chooses to become a preacher, through uploading his Instagram account shows the moment he visited the late Ndaru who was at St.Carolus' funeral home.
"Goodbye friends, #Ndaru Betrayer! Your works are eternal. Today the Yellow Flag flies in front of your house," wrote Derry Sulaiman recalling Ndaru, seen Monday, September 4.
Ndaru was born in Jakarta on April 14, 1975. Born from a family that embraces Catholicism, he has the full name Fransiskus Nugrahanto Ndaru Widodo
His love for loud music made him a thrash metal musician and founded Betrayer in the mid-1990s.
He is known as the songwriter for the song Flag Kuning which was popularized by Betrayer. The song is included in the band underground compilation album produced by RotorCorp and Musica Studios, Metalik Klinik.
However, the dispute in Betrayer made Ndaru decide to leave the band which made him known to many Indonesian metalheads.

Then, Ndaru formed a new band called Thrashline. Together with his new band, he re-released the song Flag Kuning with a different version. Several famous songs such as the Crazy King and Social Control have also been released.
Before he died, Ndaru was already sick and was hospitalized several times. The country's thrash metal legend was buried at the Tanah Kusir Public Cemetery (TPU), South Jakarta.
