Mus Mujiono appeared at the first day of Mount Bromo Jazz on Friday, July 21. The legendary guitarist from Surabaya performed eight songs with the accompaniment of SweetSwingNoff.

The man who is familiarly called Om Nono opened his appearance with the song Puncak Asmara created by Oddie Agam. His appearance continued with Mesra.

There is something unique about Mus Mujiono's second appearance during the holding of Mount Bromo Jazz. Several coals of fire were seen surrounding the place where he sang.

"This is the first time I've performed with coal. Honestly, it's really cold. This is about 2 thousand of our height (masl)," said Mus Mujiono on the sidelines of his appearance.

The fire coal was specially prepared so that musicians who performed could maximize their abilities. Mus Mujiono admitted that his hands had been cramped since training, due to the low temperature in Bromo. About 14 degrees Celsius when he appeared.

"This is honest, my hands like cramps when they are cold, they have to be raised up," said Mus Mujiono.

However, Mus Mujiono still managed to invite the audience to reminisce with the songs he performed.

After performing the two songs above, Mus Mujiono continued his performance by performing George Benson's song Beyond The Sea, Lestari, and Kutegas Cinta and Doubts.

Meanwhile, the last two songs performed were Meaning of Life and Signs, two hit songs that were very attached to his fans.

After his appearance, Mus Mujiono called Mount Bromo Jazz a challenging music festival, given the location of the event which was cold.

This festival is unique, which we have to play in the cold and open air. So it's automatically a problem in our physical and radius," said Mus Mujiono.

"As a guitarist, I feel that my fingers have a problem if they are not protected or cared for. From the exercise, I have felt cramps in my fingers," he continued.

However, he sees this festival as a unique music event. Mus Mujiono also supports the continued Mount Bromo Jazz.

"The challenge is extraordinary, but unique and fun playing," said Mus Mujiono.

"For me personally, the motto of Mount Bromo Jazz is to raise or combine traditional music with universal music. Hopefully in the future this good intention can be realized," he concluded.

Besides Mus Mujiono. The first day of the 2023 Mount Bromo Jazz event features Salma Salsabil, Deredia, Henk Kraaijeveld Quietet, Blue Fire Project By Bintang Indrianto Feat. Atiek CB, and closed by Ardhito Pramono.
