48-eight Indonesian musicians will collaborate in a charity concert titled Gitary for the Country: Donation of the Cianjur Earthquake. The event which will take place at Bentara Budaya Jakarta today, December 7, was held as a form of concern and solidarity with earthquake victims who have claimed hundreds of lives and caused damage.

In addition to displaying musicians' expertise, this concert will also offer poetry readings, as well as guitar auctions signed by performers, paintings by Tommy Garux and other artists. The money produced at this event will later be fully donated to the victims of the Cianjur earthquake.

"The Guitarist's event for the country was originally intended for us guitarists to move to give prayers and donations to Cianjur. But, now there is an earthquake in Garut, then Semeru, later friends will decide," said Dewa Budjana during a press conference in the Palmerah area, West Jakarta, Monday, December 5 yesterday.

Dewa Budjana as a committee and performer at this event explained that since the Gitaris concert for the Country was first held in 2010, guitarists and musicians from other countries have often held concerts to raise donations for those in need.

If you say the underlying one, yes, just want to donate with your work because we can present our work for donations, of course from donors. Long before, with Gigi too, if there is a certain event in the form of a charity, I will also participate. After all, it's not always a disaster, if there are friends who are sick, we can also donate it, "said Budjana.

To gather dozens of musicians to appear in charity concerts, Budjana assessed that there were no difficulties at all, but preparations such as training have become very short because musicians have different activities with different schedules.

"Actually, it's easy (to be invited to a charity concert), high sensitivity and a high social spirit, the spirit of gotong royong is also strong. From a small scale, for example, friends are sick, 'donate!', I will definitely donate everything. Even though I don't know who it is for, but if it's called a disaster, it must be put forward. There are never any musicians who ask how much honorarium, because it's impossible, because this is a charity movement," he said.

Budjana also expressed his hope for the Guitars event for the Country this time. Because we live in nature too, nature always gives many surprises. Shocks are chaotic. The hope is of course in difficult times, we can do something to help, we must be able to help," he concluded.
