Apple Prepares VideoOS 3 Update With A Myriad Of New Features

JAKARTA - Apple is reportedly preparing a massive update forvisionOS 3, although there won't be a new Vision Pro model in 2025. This information was reported by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, who said that this update would be introduced at the WWDC 2025 event.

Although Apple is developing a second-generation Vision Pro with the latest M-series chips, as well as a more affordable version of the headset, the two devices will not be released this year. In fact, Vision Pro is currently still using the M2 chip introduced since 2022, and will be four years old when the next hardware update arrives.

Apple Focuses on SoftwarevisionOS 3

Although Apple's hardware development plan for Vision Pro sounds quite slow, the company remains serious about strengthening visionOS.

Last month, Apple released 2.4 betavisionOS, introduced Apple Intelligence into this headset, and introduced the Vision Pro app for the iPhone. In addition, the Spatial Gallery feature was also introduced, and the final version of this update will be publicly available in April 2025.

However, visionOS 3 is said to be bringing a much bigger increase. Unfortunately, Gurman did not reveal the details of the features that would be present in the update.

"All signs show that Apple's Vision Products Group team is starting to shift its focus to other form factors. But Apple can't just let Vision Pro go down. The company has invested too much and needs to continue to bring avisionOS update. The third edition will be a release full of new features," Gurman said.

Although many hope that Apple will soon release a cheaper Vision Pro model, it seems that the company is currently prioritizing software development to make visionOS a more mature system. This strategy is expected to provide long-term benefits for Apple in cementing its position in the mixed reality device market.
