Mitsubishi Presents PHEV Minor Outlander Update, Increasingly Saves Fuel

JAKARTA - Automotive manufacturer from Japan, Mitsubishi launched an update version of PHEV Outlander with an exterior minor change and added a number of features to the European market.

Mitsubishi Motors President & CEO, Europe Frank Krol, said the SUV comes with a longer range of electricity as well as an aid and convenience system that is further enhanced than the previous version.

"This car has a wider cruising range, a remarkable quality level with Japan's autotenashi approach that is careful with detail and health, a variety of assistance and comfort systems, the New Outlander PHEV is the next stage in our product breakthrough," said Krol on the official Mitsubishi Europe website, Thursday, October 3.

From the exterior side, the manufacturer with the 'three diamonds' logo gave him 18-inch rims and the latest 20-inch alloys, a refresh on the back lights, and a revised goal design. Then, there is a new color choice called Moonstone Gray which leaves an elegant impression.

The inside is presented with luxury with a touchscreen infotainment screen of 12.3 inches or an increase from the previous 9 inches. The system is connected with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless connectivity and is supported by the sound activation feature by saying Hello Mitsubishi.

The display of digital cluster instruments also looks bigger up to 12.3 inches to make it easier for drivers to see indicators of speed, gasoline, and other technical matters.

Another new feature provided is a digital rear-view mirror and ventilated front seat that combines heating and massage functions for users of this car.

Mitsubishi also utilizes collaboration with Yamaha in presenting a high-quality audio system on its car lineup, including this latest PHEV Outlander. The SUV is now equipped with 8 or 12 speakers that buyers can choose from.

Carrying a sophisticated Plug-In Hybrid system, the latest PHEV Outlander continues to carry a 2.4 liter DOHC engine. However, the system is re-developed with an expanded cooling channel, better recirculation of exhaust gases, and improved fuel efficiency and performance.

Thus, the engine can have up to 100 kW of power and 203 Nm of torque. When combined with the performance of electric motors, this SUV is capable of vomiting up to 225 kW of combined power or the equivalent of 302 dk.

This car has a larger battery capacity of up to 22.7 kWh to replace the previous 20 kWh. Thus, this is able to provide pure electric cruising range of up to 86 km according to the WLTP cycle.

The manufacturer claims that PHEV's Outlander has fuel efficiency of up to 0.8 l/100 km with disposal emissions reaching 19 g/km. The total range of pure gasoline and electricity in this car can reach 844 km.

Mitsubishi will begin assembling the newest PHEV Outlander starting later this year and will sell it in March 2025 on the blue continent.
