JAKARTA Xpeng Aeroht is a subsidiary of Xpeng that develops eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) and flying cars. The company's newest vehicle is called the Modular Flying Car, dubbed the Land Aircraft Carrier. This is an EV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) truck that carries an eVTOL aircraft on the back.

Recently, it officially announced the price of the Land Aircraft Carrier, which is ready to change the way humans transport. In addition to prices, Xpeng Aeroht also announced its mass production plans.

The eVTOL plane with four rotors has a capacity of two people and can be charged in the truck. This aircraft has manual and automatic flight mode. It can land and connect automatically to a truck. While in the truck, the propeller will fold.

This truck is 5.5 meters long, 2 meters wide, and 2 meters high. The truck is based on the EMEV 800V platform with 3 as wheels and six-wheel drive (6x6). The distance reaches 1000 kilometers. This truck has four seats, while the remaining space is used for aircraft. Charging trucks from 30 percent to 80 percent takes 18 minutes.

Owners need to have a special license to operate eVTOL and must comply with all regulations related to low air areas. China is in the process of drafting a new law regulating the region to support aircraft developments at low altitudes

Meanwhile, according to a report from CNevpost, Thursday, September 5, Xpeng Aeroht plans to start mass production of this Land Aircraft Carrier by 2026 at a targeted price below 2 million yuan or around IDR 4.3 billion, as revealed by President Xpeng Aeroht, Zhao Deli.

Can't wait? Xpeng Aeroht plans to hold Land Aircraft Carrier's first public flight at an air show in Zhuhai in November, and will introduce it at the Guangzhou automotive exhibition in the same month. With pre-sales plans starting at the end of 2024, the company is optimistic that this futuristic vehicle can reach the wider community soon.

"This Land Aircraft Carrier will begin mass production and be delivered in 2026," Zhao said. He also added that a new plant in Guangzhou will begin construction this year, with an annual production target of more than 10,000 units. In fact, the first prototype of the production line is expected to be ready by July 31, 2025.

Founded in 2013, Xpeng Aeroht has now become one of the main players in the flying car industry, with five flying car models announced and nearly 20,000 flight tests that have been carried out.
