BMW M5 Latest Touring Caught Camera Trial On Racing Track

JAKARTA The launch of the latest M5 model is getting closer. This sporty-style car is in the finalization stage ahead of its presence. After the sedan version is rumored to be launching this month, the Touring version is planned to debut at the end of this year.

However, BMW must be racing against time in its development. This time, the German manufacturer was caught on camera testing M5 Touring at the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit.

According to CarBuzz, Monday, June 10, a CarSpyMedia youtube account post recorded the wagon action running on the track nicknamed Green Hell. The car looks speeding up with a camouflage sticker.

In the tape, it can be heard that this car emits a V8 engine that is fierce through every corner. This further confirms rumors that M5 Touring will carry an 8-cylinder engine from XM.

This means that M5 Touring will be equipped with up to 535 kW of power capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/hour in 4 seconds. Carrying plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology, the car will have a 25.7 kWh battery capable of running with pure power as far as 100 km.

The latest M5 Touring will also have an impressive all-wheel drive but will likely be powered by dual-clutch transmission. This means, the potential return of manual transmission in this sedan is very small.

Just like the sedan version, the station wagon variant will have a Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) system adopted from XM. Thus, it is estimated that the car can have pure electric power capable of providing up to 80 km of range in one charge.

As previously reported, this car is decorated with an aggressive display with a better sporty bumper and air insertion, wider rim arch, four exhaust, and longer back.
