JAKARTA - Acura, the premium automotive brand under the auspices of Honda Motor Corporation, introduced its first electric car, ZDX last year. The car is scheduled to arrive at the United States (US) dealer network this spring.

This SUV modeled car is offered in two A-Spec variants, namely RWD and AWD. Carrying advanced and up-to-date technology, how much electricity consumption is presented by this model?

Reporting from InsideEVs, Monday, May 13, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said Acura ZDX RWD can produce a range of up to 313 miles or 503 km and AWD type with 304 miles (489 km). Both have 102 kWh battery packages.

For use on the highway, the brother of the Honda Prologue is estimated to have a distance of about 280-290 miles (equivalent to 450 to 460 km).

Acura ZDX A-Spec RWD with 20 inches of rim, is estimated to have electricity consumption reaching 2.7 miles/kWh (about 4.3 km/kWh). Meanwhile, the AWD version has consumption of 2.6 miles/kWh (equivalent to 4 km/kWh).

For the highest type, namely Type S, EPA has not registered its travel distance. However, it is estimated that this variant has a range of up to 278 miles (447 km) or smaller than the initial two trims. This possibility is because this car uses a larger 22-inch rim with high performance tires.

The ZDX A-Spec variant is equipped with a rear electric motor driver with a power of about 340 dk. There is also a dual electric all-wheel drive configuration. While the Type S variant, as the highest variant, has up to 500 dk of power, makes it the most powerful car ever produced by Acura.

This sub-brand from Honda sets the initial price of ZDX starting at 64,500 US dollars or around Rp1 billion for type A-Spec. Meanwhile, the high-performance variant, Type S, is priced at US$74,500 or equivalent to Rp1.120 billion.
