The Reason Why Rinda Salmun's Designer Is Willing To Scaveng For The 2025 JFW Collection

JAKARTA - Rinda Salmun is one of the designers who displayed his collection at the Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2025 event. In his presentation, he admitted to collecting materials for a new collection of clothes entitled "Liberation".

"When asked about sustainable fashion, I think for a lifetime I will be consistent with it. This is the first time I have made a collection of materials that I didn't get out of money at all," said Rinda, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, October 26.

"So, I collect materials from several designers, there are also I take the production reject goods from one brand friend, and I also cooperate with flow upsicles, we develop the materials into various kinds of clothes," he added.

Rinda's fashion collection, which is featured in the JFW 2025 event with the theme of independence, was inspired, among other things, by the struggle of the people in countries such as Palestine, Sudan, and Congo for independence and freedom.

In addition, Rinda through her fashion collection wants to convey a message that women are also entitled to freedom.

He hopes that the "Liberation" collection can become a symbol of freedom for anyone in need and wants.

Rinda admitted that it took approximately 1.5 months to prepare the "Liberation" collection, which consists of 18 fashion designs.

"It took a long time during the process, because we sewed it one by one, a lot of hand statics, the ingredients from scratch were worked on to become a big unit to be a dress," he said.

Rinda uses a variety of leftover ingredients, including denim and cotton, to make women's and men's street style clothes in the "Liberation" collection.

By bringing the spirit of slow fashion to JFW 2025, Rinda hopes to encourage more people to act wisely in buying and wearing clothes.

"Hopefully in the future people will be more concerned with the way they buy clothes, process used clothes according to their respective creativity," said Rinda ending the conversation.
