Insinuated, Scott Beber Reasons Not To Talk To Russell Crowe About Gladiator 2

JAKARTA - Scott opened his voice after being insinuated openly by actor Russell Crowe before the film Gladiator 2 would hit theaters. Crowe is the main character in his first film which Scott also directed.

Russell Crowe playsAHKAN Decimus Meridius. Thanks to his role, he won the 2001 Oscars. However, he did not join the sequel because his character died at the end of the story.

"Actually, the plot (first film) is in sight. I think that's what makes me feel the story is too simple," Scott told Empire.

"I think (Russell Crowe) is one of the best actors in the world and I think we have a good relationship. Hopefully," he continued.

He hopes Russell Crowe doesn't mind if he doesn't talk to Crowe about a Gladiator sequel. In fact, Crowe already questioned Scott who made a sequel without discussing.

"As long as he doesn't talk about how he doesn't join the consultation, why should I talk? He's dead (in the film)", Crowe said.

Previously, Russell Crowe expressed his sentiments after hearing that Gladiator had a sequel. He was not involved, even this film was over.

"I feel uncomfortable with the fact they make films again, because of course, my (character) is dead and I have no rights. But some things I hear, I feel it's not a good moral journey from the character," Russell Crowe said.

"But I can't say anything, not my place. So we have to see what the results are like. But I also saw when I made the film and everything that happened, the door was open to me. It's just my honesty: there's a bit of a melancholic side, jealousy," he said.

Previously, Russell Crowe revealed he was a little jealous because he wasn't part of the sequel.

The only thing I feel is that I feel jealous, because I used to be so young and got a great experience in life. Something that changed my life. I changed how people looked at me. I was lucky to be involved in some movies but the film was amazing," said Crowe.

Gladiator 2 is set several years after original and Paul Mescal films played Lucius, previously played Spencer Treat Clark in his original film. Lucius is the son of Lucilla (Connie Nielsen) and Commodus' nephew (Joaquin Phoenix).
