Still Playing Lee Young Ae, Dae Jang Geum's New Drama Is Not Jewel In The Palace Sequel

JAKARTA - Korean drama fans in the early 2000s were enthusiastic about the news of the presence of a Jewel in the Palace sequel entitled Uinyeo Dae Jang Geum. However, the original drama writer said that this new drama opened a sequel.

Kim Young Hyun, creator of Jewel in the Palace, made a clarification that she was not involved with the production of Uinyeo Dae Jang Geum even though this drama was again starring Lee Young Ae.

Young Hyun said she just found out the drama's production from the internet. They also stated that Uinyeo Dae Jang Geum had nothing to do with Jewel in the Palace from characters, stories, to time backgrounds.

Today, Tuesday, February 6, Fantagio as the production team confirmed that this drama has nothing to do with Jewel in the Palace. This relationship was mentioned because they announced that this drama was made in celebration of their first 20 years of drama.

It's true that Uinyeo Dae Jang Geum is different and not connected to Jewel in the Palace. This is a new fictional story adapted from the historical figure Dae Jang Geum and his history," Fantagio said.
