JAKARTA - The production house of Magma Entertainment collaborated with Rapi Film to release their latest horror film, entitled Satan's Settlement. The film itself is scheduled to start showing in all Indonesian cinemas on January 26 tomorrow.

The film, starring Adinda Thomas to Maudy Effrosina, outlines the life of Alin (Maudy Effrosina) who was forced to participate in a group of thieves who were his own neighbors named Ghani (Bhisma Mulia).

At first, the presence of Alin was not accepted by two of Ghani's friends who came from Malang named Fitrah (Daffa Wardhana) and Zia (Ashira Zamita). But in the end they managed to enter a house in the middle of the forest which turned out to bring them to death.

At the beginning of the film, a terrible and tense atmosphere was built set in the royal era. This is enough to make the audience understand the origin of the curse which will later become the root of the problem in this film Pemukiman Setan.

In addition, surprising moments are also shown very interestingly, both from sound to shooting. Although the audience can guess when the jumpscale will take place, it still makes the heart beat quite hard.

One of the main players who deserves thumbs up is Adinda Thomas who plays Sukma alias a ghost in this film. This can be seen from his totality in playing his role as a ghost with a laughing voice which eventually becomes one of the attractions in this film.

This is coupled with Sukma's movements that are different from the ghosts in horror films in general. Where in this film, Charles Gozali maintains Adinda Thomas' human form but with the support of extraordinary make-up, it can make the audience seem to no longer recognize Adinda's original face.

Even so, it is very unfortunate that there are some parts that feel empty in the story. Like the background of Alin's life as a main character, it is not told in detail in this film so that the audience cannot feel the emotion of his despair until he must join in becoming a thief.

Likewise with the background of 3 of Ghani's friends, Fitrah and Zia, who were not described by flashbacks of how the three of them met so that they could finally become friends who decided to become thieves.

In addition, the conflict built in this film is too fast to pass. The result was enough to confuse the audience about the basic problems that occurred so that Sukma attacked and killed other players. What revenge did Sukma have that had to attack them?

This ultimately makes the audience unable to process the emotions they want to build in this film. Likewise with the comedy side that is too forced to appear in the film so that it ends up making the story offline.
