Golkar Officially Usung Khofifah-Emil Dardak In The East Java Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - The Golkar Party officially carries the pair Khofifah Indar Parawansa-Emil Dardak in the 2024 East Java Governor Election (Pilgub Jatim).

This announcement was made by General Chair Airlangga Hartarto after receiving a visit from Khofifah-Emil at his official residence on Jalan Widya Chandra, South Jakarta, Friday, May 17.

"We flanked Mrs. Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Mr. Emil Dardak. Earlier in the gathering as well as from the Golkar Party Election Winning Body, we have issued a decree to carry Mrs. Khofifah and Mr. Emil as candidates for governor of East Java and deputy governor," said Airlangga.

During the meeting, Airlangga revealed many topics that were discussed with Khofifah and Emil. One of them is with the success of Khofifah and Emil in bringing the victory of candidate pair number 2 in the 2024 presidential election, so Golkar also wants to continue the leadership of this incumbent pair in East Java.

"Because in yesterday's presidential election, East Java, the results were good and Mrs. Khofifah and Mr. Emil in the last election were also given the assignment by the Golkar Party for the first time. So the Golkar Party is consistent with couples in East Java," said Airlangga.

"And we have communicated with the Forward Indonesia Coalition, all of which have the same candidate," he continued.

Airlangga said the Forward Indonesia Coalition (KIM) in East Java had already pocketed 52 percent as a condition for carrying candidates. "So that's enough, but if the others want to join, they can," he concluded.
