Small Town Stories tells of Mu Di (Karlina Zhang), a woman who has professional abilities and carries high education. He had to return home after suffering an injury to recover.

There, he met Bai Lang (Gao Zhi Ting), a boss of a smart company. Due to an incident, the two were forced to manage a business together.

On his way, Mu Di began to feel different. He was not only warmly welcomed by the villagers but he also received inspiration to combine pop and traditional cultural arts. Mu Di recalled the folk music he had enjoyed.

Mu Di began to explore the music he enjoyed getting praise from villagers. He also changed his relationship with Bai Lang, which was initially full of conflict, now makes up.

Mu Di and the members of the folk orchestra used the opportunity for folk music to be increasingly known to the public and loved by many people.

Bai Lang's presence also made Mu Di begin to remove the barrier between them and begin to get close to Bai Lang. The journey made Mu Di find his beloved career and the house he liked.

A number of actors such as Wu Xing Jian, Song Jia Teng, Zhu Rui, Rain Lu, Niu Chao, Xu Shao Ying, and many others also star in this drama.
