NCT's Haechan Pays Fines After Knowing Smoking Indoors

JAKARTA - NCT's Haechan paid a fine after being caught smoking in the room. This news was confirmed by the SM Entertainment agency.

Wednesday, January 10, NCT 127 released the NCT 127 training video for the song Be There For Me through their YouTube channel. The public found Haechan holding an electronic cigarette (vape) and using it in the training room.

This video was once a conversation because smoking indoors was a violation in South Korea.

Today, Thursday, January 11, SM Entertainment released a statement regarding the news. They confirmed that Haechan used electronic cigarettes indoors.

"We apologize for causing concern to everyone for irresponsible actions. We confirmed Haechan used electronic cigarettes in the NCT 127 video released on January 10," SM Entertainment said in a statement.

"Today, January 11, he intends to pay a fine according to the health department's provisions for this matter. We will focus on ensuring incidents like this do not happen in the future," they continued.

Haechan himself was recently declared to have taken a break due to dengue inflammation. He is said to be absent from several NCT 127 and NCT Dream activities in the future. He also chose several activities according to his health condition.
