JAKARTA - Lee Si Young has returned to join the Sweet Home 2 series directed by Lee Eung Bok. He still plays So Yi Kyeong who previously appeared strong in his first season.

"I'm very happy that we have received a lot of love, we can make the second season and that's what makes us more enthusiastic," Lee Si Young said at the Sweet Home 2 press conference on Thursday, December 30.

Through his latest season, the character So Yi Kyeong will travel to find her husband in the midst of his pregnant condition.

My character is part of Green Home and her husband works in the bureau so she starts a trip to find her husband, Lee Si Young's story.

"Every character has a complex screen and I'm one of them. Turning point is that I have to give birth and when she experiences emotions, there is a fear side to whether I can manage it," he continued.

Lee Si Young felt helped by director Lee Eung Bok who also invited him to discuss working on the script, especially for the So Yi Kyeong section.

So Yi Kyeong's role is getting more and more challenging and the director always asks the actors even though we are at the location. We also discussed the feeling of being a mother. He said, 'If you have an idea, try writing the idea down' so I wrote in the notes what my opinion as a mother would be,' continued Lee Si Young.

"He applied it to my character. When I was pregnant, I remember I was worried if this kid would be okay. When we gave birth we also thought what to think. All that complexity made director Lee create an impactful scene," he continued.

I was touched by the story, and indeed when I was a mother, there was emotion that happened. Lee Si Young likes to respond to the script and fix it so I believe this has an emotional side," said Lee Eung Bok.

Lee Si Young also knows that the Sweet Home series was very welcomed by global audiences. He hopes that the continuation of this story can be welcomed.

"Fulners around the world, thank you for waiting. I know you guys are really waiting," said Lee Si Young.

Sweet Home 2 tells the story of Green Home apartment residents including Cha Way Soo who fights monsters. In the baseball stage, survivors are determined to live together but they are threatened with monsters outside the stage and the monster side they live in.

The Sweet Home 2 series will be released today, Friday, December 1, via Netflix.
