5 Years Since Debut, BLACKPINK's Jennie Releases New Song, You & Me

JAKARTA - Jennie BLACKPINK will release her latest solo song after five years of debuting as a solo singer. YG Entertainment released a poster for a special single titled You & Me.

This poster shows Jennie in her red dress set on the moon. The song You & Me is a single that Jennie performed during BLACKPINK's world tour, Born Pink.

On several occasions, Jennie also added a rap for this song, such as at the Coachella festival.

According to the poster, Jennie often performs this song with a visual month and is accompanied by male background dancers.

The solo song You & Me will be released on October 6, 2023 at 13.00 South Korean time on all streaming platforms.

This song is Jennie's latest work after debuting in 2018 with the song SOLO. After that, he was busy with activities with BLACKPINK and individuals.

Then, last June, Jennie had the opportunity to fill the soundtrack for The Idol series with The Weeknd and Lily Rose-Depp through the song One of the Girls. This song reaped success on the international music charts.

The release of this latest song comes amid the issue of Jennie and four BLACKPINK members who will leave YG Entertainment. However, the YG logo in Jennie's single poster seems to hint that Jennie will continue her contract with the agency.

At the end of last September, Jennie and Jisoo were rumored to be setting up their own agencies for their individual activities. This continues with rumors that Rose previously mentioned only continued with YG Entertainment.

BLACKPINK's exclusive contract has also expired since last August, but YG Entertainment has not provided certainty about their continuation.

"Nothing can be confirmed regarding BLACKPINK's contract renewal and their activities going forward," said YG Entertainment, which gave a similar response to all rumors of BLACKPINK's contract.
