Compact, Bobby Finally Reveals The Reason IKON Left Together From YG Entertainment

JAKARTA - K-pop group iKON made a surprise when they opted out of YG Entertainment in December 2022. The six members did not renew their exclusive contract with the agency that raised their name.

A month passed, iKON joined 143 Entertainment and continued their careers. iKON also released their third album titled Take Off and went on a world tour.

In his latest interview, Bobby as the leader finally revealed the reason they did not continue the contract with YG Entertainment. They emphasized that their agency is a good company, but there are other reasons.

We had a great opportunity and met this good guy. He's like 'Why don't you join (143 Entertainment) and feel the opportunity to learn more about this industry and everything?' Bobby's story reports Forbes Korea.

YG Entertainment is a good and good company. But, they do everything for you," continued Bobby.

He felt that his ability as a musician was not honed due to their activities and releases being managed by the company.

"Everything we do is be on stage and write music. So we want to learn more since we were young and this is why we chose this step," said Bobby.

Bobby was also open about the release of BI, who had disappointed him with the group. Now, he bravely replied to fan comments that said he was fine with the decision.

"I mean, he neglected iKON or me or Chanwoo, DK, Song, Jay, June. But after all the hatred I felt for him, he made that decision because he didn't want to be a burden for iKON," Bobby explained.

I chose to forgive him and show love to my brother. I don't know if we can collaborate but I still love him," he said.

The exit of iKON from YG Entertainment is also going well, considering that iKON is still using the YouTube channel since they were still joining the agency. In addition, iKON members are also still displaying their old songs throughout the concert tour.
