Comedian Gilang Dirga announced that he would participate in politics in 2024 as a legislative candidate. This decision was taken by Gilang because he has some concerns, especially in the entertainment world.

This is the first time running for office, the husband of Adiezty Fersa has learned a lot from senior comedian Eko Patrio. He said Eko gave him a lot of input.

"So it was indeed one of the people I talked to about Mas Eko's politics. So he explained in detail, like this, from a to z. So I also kept asking Desi's tea. I often chatted with others," said Gilang Dirga in the Mampang Prapatan area, South Jakarta, Tuesday, September 12.

As a person who started his career in the entertainment world, it is not uncommon for Gilang to get questions about artists entering politics. For this 34-year-old man working as a politician and artist is very different.

"So the artist who first went into politics and they said that the stigma of the community to the artist was because it was felt that the artist was entertaining his work," he continued.

"When we enter politics, what can we do? Even though I think it's like this, we need to entertain looking for materials, we can't share it when taking care of the community, at least there is competition, if we want to fear checking, not from artists, for example from businessmen, don't focus on all artists, what if the artist is limp, like this, the artist is not in trouble because it is protected by law, check who is the representative of the people, if you want to be exposed, check everything," he said.
