Puteri Indonesia Foundation Affirms No Longer Holds Miss Universe Organization License

JAKARTA - The chaos in cases of sexual harassment that occurred at the Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 event has made many parties concerned. For decades held by the Puteri Indonesia Foundation (YPI), the holding of the beauty pageant has never had a problem.

This year, after Poppy Capella's license only got into trouble. Therefore, YPI said that since February 2023 it no longer holds a license for the Miss Universe Organization.

Since then, the Puteri Indonesia Foundation has not been the organizer of the event in Indonesia, so we have nothing to do with the event.

"We are grateful for the support and trust that has been given to the Puteri Indonesia Foundation," said YPI Public Relations in a media statement received Tuesday, August 8.

The foundation founded by Mooryati Soedibyo also expressed his gratitude for the support and trust given to YPI so far.

"We will continue to be committed to developing the talents of Indonesian women who are of high quality and competitiveness in the International arena, by adhering to the prevailing ethics, norms and morals," he continued.
