Synopsis Of Mantan Tapi Menikah Series, When Ge Pamungkas Becomes A Sad Boy

JAKARTA - The drama series Mantan Tapi Menikah will premiere on the Viu platform on January 31, 2023, with each episode being released every Tuesday and Wednesday. Actor Ge Pamungkas shared his experience playing the sadboy character in the Viu Original series.

“During the casting for Mantan Tapi Menikah, I was challenged as Bayu and the main character, Saka. But I pray that I will get Bayu character because I have never played a sadboy character," Ge said in a press statement received in Jakarta, Friday.

Based on the novel of the same name, the character Bayu in the series is described as a melancholic man who is romantic but never dares to express his love for the woman of his dreams.

Mantan Tapi Menikah follows the journey of love and the career of Ana (played by Aurelie Moremans) who is forced to work at a company led by her ex-boyfriend, Saka (played by Omar Daniel). Ana gets annoying treatment from the boss at the office because she dumped Saka in the past.

When Bayu approaches Ana again, Saka wants the love of the past to be rekindled. The conflict between them was colored by another romance that arose in the hearts of Tata (played by Cassandra S Lee) and Maria (played by Lania Fira).

Ge said that the shooting process for Mantan Tapi Menikah was very enjoyable. There is no distance or gap between players. Director Arwin T. Wardhana also applies a healthy shooting concept, according to Ge, so that the production team can finish on time.

In exploring the character, Ge gets references to a number of characters in several Korean dramas from the director. Reflecting on the character he plays, Ge advised men out there not to just wait and harbor feelings for the woman of their dreams.

“I want to inspire sad boys. If you fight for her who you think will be your soul mate, don't wait. Those who don't move, move quickly!" he said.

According to Ge, Bayu's character is different from himself. For Ge himself, it only takes one week or at most one month to start dating.

The drama Mantan Tapi Menikah also raises a message so that women have the courage to act and not lose their way in a relationship. Ge also reminded that exes are in the past.

“For me, an ex is a partner who has shared goals but failed. Yes, go your own way. Don't disturb each other," concluded Ge.
