JAKARTA - For fans of Layangan Putus the series, Prinsa Mandagie's name is certainly familiar to your ears. Through the original soundtrack of the series entitled 'Sahabat Dulu', her name is now increasingly popular because the story of the drama starring Reza Rahadian, Putri Marino, and Anya Geraldine is viral and loved by the public.

As is known, the series produced by MD Entertainment is the result of an adaptation of a viral story from a story written on social media, then continued to a novel entitled Layangan Putus, by the same person with the pen name of Mommy ASF. Now the series continues to grow until it can finally be seen on television.

The success of Layangan Putus certainly has an impact on the figure of Prinsa Mandagie, as the soundtrack singer. But who would have thought, that her journey to the project began with the casting process for the series that turned to music.

"Initially, I came to MD Place to cast a series but not Layangan Putus. After casting I was invited by the manager, I was introduced to an MD Music person named Mr. Iman. He asked me how I usually sing, then finally Mr. Iman invited me and offered, 'Pris do you want or not to fill in the soundtrack of the series, there's Layangan Putus.' Yes, I'll just go, without further ado. So at first, I was casting, but then involved in the soundtrack, the path was different. At first, I wanted to explore new things into acting, finally, I turned to singing," said Prinsa.

Prinsa's delay in acting does not make her regret it because until now she is still getting positive reactions from the public towards her works in the singing world. Prinsa admitted that she would continue to develop her talents and not only have to be in the music industry.

"When I was casting I was the antagonist, I forgot. I just didn't think I deserved it, when I was casting I played a high school student like an arrogant classmate, maybe my face isn't like a high school kid, so God bends it, just this (soundtrack). I still want to act, because in the entertainment world you can't rely on just one talent, that doesn't mean you can't be bold in one field, but self-exploration is important. Challenging myself is with trying new things, I will try everything, there is no limit to learning something good," she said.

The world of singing is not a new thing for this beautiful girl who was born in 1998, she participated in the Indonesian Idol season 10 event in 2019 and made it to the Top 23. Her steps were stopped at the showcase stage because she was sick and had to be treated.

Now, her name is skyrocketing because her voice is brought by a popular series, although at the beginning she was involved in the project, she didn't think Layangan Putus would be as popular as it is now. As a result, besides being better known, she also made many new friends in the entertainment industry.

"I didn't have time to know it would go viral. Indeed, I was told that (Layangan Putus) was adapted from a true story novel and it was selling really well, I wanted it. Previously, I never thought it would go viral just to see who was playing, there were Reza and Putri Marino, he and she If it's said in terms of quality, who doesn't know them, and of course, it will be cool. If it goes viral, I don't think so," she said.

"It really has an impact on my career. Especially when people know, 'Oh, this is the singer,' it makes it easier for me to produce other works and get invited to Youtube from my musician friends, so I have new friends, new links," she added.

Although Prinsa has benefited a lot from the success of Layangan Putus, she is not a loyal audience. She was already emotional with the character Aris, played by Reza, at the beginning of the story. Even when she got the soundtrack project, she had never read the synopsis.

"So I watched it after it was released, when I first watched it, I was speechless, it turned out to be there. I watched it at the beginning because I was already annoyed, I didn't want to continue to be emotional. I don't want to be emotional like other moms out there, I followed the development of the story from Tiktok and Instagram. I finished (the story) just cut it and saw it, just a cut from social media. I met brother Reza, I said 'How come I'm really annoyed, usually, it's good but it's annoying,' he said 'Yes, that's what acting is, Pris, it means it's successful,' yes, that's true," she concluded.

Famous For Layangan Putus

Layangan Putus tells the story of a household that has no direction due to the presence of a third person. Prinsa also claimed to have a personal experience of infidelity. She had been cheated on by her boyfriend to the point where she felt devastated and blamed herself. That's why she became easily emotional when she saw the Layangan Putus.

"Maybe I'm afraid that I've been cheated on again. Layangan Putus is about husband and wife, but I'm still dating, so if I look again (the affair) it makes me lazy, I avoid my mouth to say inappropriate words," she said.

"The impact (of being cheated on) is hurt, insecure, as for me. How can he find someone else, what am I lacking, then usually when it's blaming, don't confront it. How come I can't give him what he wants, whether it's attention or something but after that, there is an acceptance phase, maybe he's not for me, after that just move on. I can fill myself more to explore my talents, so I've developed myself, looking for useful activities," she continued.

Of course, no one wants to be betrayed. Likewise, Prinsa, even though she has been a victim of cheating more than once, but she still tries to be strong and thinks that the person who betrayed her is not the one who deserves it.

Prinsa assessed that people who like cheating will become a habit because they always feel lacking and continue to look for those shortcomings in other people. As a victim of cheating, he can still learn from this painful event in a positive way, one of which is his work.

"I don't know how to anticipate being cheated on, because we never know what our partner is like, just believe it. For example, if he cheats, then it doesn't mean anything to me, it's simple, don't use wordy words, usually if you cheat once it will become a habit, for me, yes, because he is not satisfied with what he is getting. I was cheated on several times with different people, at the beginning I was cheated on I still wanted to begging, blame myself, but in the end, I just got to the phase of leaving, not for me. The lesson I don't want to beg for people who don't deserve to get me," she said.

Having a bitter love affair, seemed to make it easier for Prinsa to explore songs with heart-wrenching stories. In addition to the song 'Sahabat Dulu' which is currently popular, Prinsa has also prepared two singles for her trilogy project.

First, Prinsa released 'Berhenti Mengerti', then the second was titled 'Hanya Singgah', and she told VOI that the third one would be titled 'Berpisah Lebih Indah'. All of these songs seemed to describe Prinsa's experience when she felt blaming herself when she was cheated on and finally accepted it sincerely.

"The song 'Hanya Singgah', for example, is related to Layangan Putus, this is a side of Lydia's character. 'Hanya Singgah' is the second song released in my trilogy. Previously, I released the single 'Berhenti Mengerti.' The first song, is the phase where I'm blaming myself. The second phase is when I'm heartbroken, in this song 'Hanya Singgah'. I'm just being stopped, I think I'm the only one, it turns out I'm not the only one. 'Hanya Singgah' is the moment where I ask how come I am cheated. This last song where I accept, I accept, the title is 'Berpisah Lebih Indah', with separation I can love myself, not drop my value. Can accept and let go," she said.

"Just pray, I finished my trilogy, hopefully, there will be an album," she added.
