Backstage Film Screening At JAFF 2021, Sissy Priscillia: Proud To Be Screened At Quality Film Festival

JAKARTA – The Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival will be held from 27 November to 4 December 2021 at Empire XXI, Yogyakarta. One of the films being screened was the Backstage film produced by Paragon Pictures and Ideosource Entertainment.

This film is directed by Guntur Soeharjanto and stars Sissy Priscillia and Vanesha Prescilla. The idea for the script was born at the 2016 Fukuoka Film Festival, when the storyteller, Robert Ronny, sang karaoke with Sissy, Mira Lesmana, and the cast of the film Ada Apa Dengan Cinta 2. Then the musical film Backstage went through the process until it was screened for the first time in front of the audience of the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival 2021.

During the opening speech, Sissy said that being screened at the film festival, JAFF 2021, was like being 'shot' by her boyfriend.

"Do you know what it's like to be shot by a boyfriend? That's what I'm experiencing now," said Sissy expressively to the roar of the Backstage audience at JAFF 2021 at 17.45 western Indonesia time, Monday, November 29.

For Vanesha and the producer, Robert Ronny, this film is very personal. He said, “I hope you like the film because this film is very personal to me, also to Guntur and Sissy and Shasa (Vanesha Prescilla's nickname). So we really love this film anyway."

Guntur as the director of the Backstage film is also very happy that the film can finally be screened at JAFF 2021. During a press conference, Sissy Priscillia told about her pride when the film she starred in was screened at the film festival.

“Because it is clear that the films being screened are the best and selected. So it's also an honor to be able to play Backstage at JAFF. And hopefully, we Indonesian filmmakers, young and old, will be even more excited to make quality films,” said Sissy.

Guntuh Soeharjanto also talked about the film Backstage. In the process as a filmmaker, he likes the realist style where the audience can feel the story in every scene.

“When I make a film, I want it to be realistic. So what is presented, people feel the story, feel the emotions, feel the characters," said Guntur.

The Backstage film also stars Achmad Megantara, Karina Suwandi, Verdi Solaiman, Roy Sungkono, Aulia Sarah, and Ferry Salim. The film will be screened in all cinemas in Indonesia on December 30, 2021.
