World Water Council: Bali's 10th WWF Becomes The Most Successful Water Forum In History

JAKARTA - President of the World Water Council Lo bigc Fauchon assessed that the implementation of the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) in the Province of Bali, Indonesia, in May 2024, was one of the most successful water forums in history. The forum has produced various joint opinions on various strategic issues.

He said the success of the international agenda could not be separated from the active role of the Indonesian government, including President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono.

"This forum is very successful, perhaps the most successful in water history," said Lo big Fauchon at the office of the Ministry of Public Works, Jakarta, Friday, February 29.

He emphasized that President Jokowi's full support at that time and all levels of government contributed to the success of the 10th WWF. This is because the event was also attended by around 14,000 delegates from 160 countries in the world.

According to him, the forum is an important event to discuss strategic issues related to water management, including the challenges of climate change, access to clean water and the sustainability of global water resources.

"A lot of work has been done over the last three years and also during the forum itself," he said.

With the successful implementation of the 10th WWF, Indonesia has further emphasized its position as a country that has a strategic role in world water policy.

The 11th WWF with the theme "Action for a Better Future" will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2027. Later, the 11th WWF will discuss further the results of the follow-up meeting of the 10 World Water Forum from Bali.
