Erick Thohir Brings Good News, Modular Hospital For COVID-19 Patients Coming In 2 Weeks, Where Is The Location?

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, plans to build a modular hospital to accommodate COVID-19 patients. The construction of the hospital is targeted to be completed in two weeks. This step is in anticipation of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country in recent times.

Erick said that he plans to build a modular hospital in Jakarta. But unfortunately, he did not explain in detail where the hospital is located.

"The impetus is that Commission VI asked us to continue to open modular hospitals in Jakarta or elsewhere", he said in a Hearing Meeting with Commission VI, Wednesday, July 14.

The Chief Executive of KPC-PEN (Committee for Handling Coronavirus Disease 2019 and National Economic Recovery) said that as a follow-up to the encouragement of Commission VI as a partner of the Ministry of SOEs, his party would build a modular hospital as soon as possible.

"As an initial report for the Modular Hospital which was requested by Commission VI to be made as soon as possible in Jakarta, God willing, we are working hard and hopefully in 1-2 weeks the leaders or representatives of the people of Commission VI can also attend and check directly what we have done. do as directed", he explained.

In addition, Erick also ensured that the oxygen supply would be met. This is because he has mobilized his SOEs to supply the oxygen.

"We also invite Commission VI to see how now several companies rather than SOEs are also providing assistance instead of oxygen. Like yesterday in Krakatau Steel and this is all thanks to the support of Commission VI", he said.

Previously, Erick asked PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) to continue to increase assistance for medical oxygen needs. The order was based on the increasing need for oxygen amidst the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in recent times.

Erick noted that the company distributed oxygen to hospitals, especially in areas with a high COVID-19 positivity rate. This step also supports other ministries to accelerate and ensure its availability.

"What Krakatau Steel has done proves that state-owned companies must be service-oriented. I have emphasized this to the SOE Directors. In the midst of conditions like this, changes must be made to help the people with real action. Moreover, the need for medical oxygen is very urgent in areas with the pandemic rate is high", said Erick, in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 13.

As of last July 4, Krakatau Steel has provided oxygen supply assistance to 3,287 oxygen cylinders or 28.2 tons of oxygen. The company also provides oxygen filling assistance of up to 800-1,000 oxygen cylinders per day which is estimated to reach 250 tons of oxygen per month.

"Last week, SOE also provided ISO Tank assistance for oxygen delivery. Now, Krakatau Steel is also supplying supplies, and I ask for its contribution to be increased", he said.
