Government Targets Construction Of 100 Red And White Fishermen's Villages To Absorb 7,000 Workers

JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) targets as many as 100 red and white fishing villages (KNMP) to be built this year.

Quoted from the official Instagram account @pco.ri, Friday, September 12, the construction of the 100 KNMP is expected to absorb up to 7,000 workers.

"The government has built a red and white fishing village. It is targeted that 100 KNMP this year will absorb 7,000 workers," wrote PCO.

In the future, the development target will be expanded by 4,000 KNMP with a target of absorbing up to 200,000 workers.

"The KNMP program (hopefully) can encourage employment," he explained.

The KNMP program will not only build villages, but will also open hundreds of thousands of jobs to improve welfare, support community productivity and fish cultivators in Indonesia by building a sustainable fisheries ecosystem and encouraging local economic growth.

"This program is a manifestation of the government's commitment to build new jobs evenly to the coast," he concluded.

Adapun Program KNMP yang bakal dikerjakan oleh KKP mendapatkan anggaran Rp5,5 triliun dalam Rancangan Pendapatan dan Belanja Negara (RAPBN) Tahun Anggaran (TA) 2026.

Mengacu pada Buku II Nota Keuangan beserta RAPBN 2026, alokasi anggaran itu bakal digunakan untuk membangun 250 KNMP pada 2026 dari target 100 KNMP di tahun ini.

"Pada RAPBN tahun anggaran 2026, anggaran pembangunan KNMP direncanakan sebesar Rp5,5 triliun," tulis dokumen tersebut seperti dikutip Rabu, 20 Agustus.

The KNMP Program, which will be carried out by the KKP, will receive a budget of IDR 5.5 trillion in the Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Plan (RAPBN) for Fiscal Year (TA) 2026.

Referring to Book II of the Financial Note along with the 2026 RAPBN, the budget allocation will be used to build 250 KNMP in 2026 from the target of 100 KNMP this year.

"In the RAPBN for the 2026 fiscal year, the KNMP development budget is planned at IDR 5.5 trillion," the document wrote as quoted on Wednesday, August 20.
