There Are 780,000 New Investors In The Capital Market During 2025

JAKARTA - The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) recorded that there were 780,000 new investors in the Indonesian capital market throughout the year until the March 2025 period.

So, until now, the total investors of the Indonesian capital market have reached 15.6 million Single Investor Identification (SID).

"We believe that the capital market can play an active role in achieving Indonesia's economic growth target of up to eight percent by 2029," said PT BEI Development Director Jeffrey Hendrik quoting Antara.

On this occasion, he said that the Indonesian capital market has the potential to contribute up to 61 percent through fundraising activities, from additional investment needs over the next five years, which is estimated at IDR 14,000 trillion.

His party targets direct contributions through fundraising to reach IDR 1,500 trillion over the next five years, through initiatives such as the Initial Public Offering (IPO) Lighthouse Company, public offerings of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), and efficiency of the Right Issue process.

Meanwhile, his party is targeting indirect contributions through increasing the valuation of listed companies that provide leverage for funding through debt, reaching IDR 6,800 trillion.

Efficient capital market infrastructure can also play an important role in creating a multiplier effect on the national economy, Jeffrey said.

He explained that the company's business expansion was recorded to increase employment and increase people's purchasing power, which ultimately had an impact on household consumption components in gross domestic product (GDP).

"The contribution of listed companies, both through tax payments which reached Rp. 185 trillion and dividends to investors which reached Rp. 367 trillion in 2023, is clear evidence of the positive impact of the capital market on the economy," said Jeffrey.
