Keep Prices At The Consumer Level, ID FOOD Holds Market Operations Prepare Meat, Sugar, And Cooking Oil

JAKARTA - Food SOE Holding ID FOOD poured superior food products in the Operations of the Cheap Food Market which was carried out during the HBKN Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 1446 H/2025 AD. In activities aimed at maintaining the stability of these food supply and prices, ID FOOD prepares buffalo meat, sugar consumption, and cooking oil products at affordable prices based on the Highest Retail Price (HET) set by the government.

This was conveyed by the President Director of ID FOOD Sis Apik Wijayanto through his statement, in Jakarta, Wednesday, February 26. According to him, in the early stages of market operations, ID FOOD was present in 6 provinces, namely Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java by preparing buffalo meat, sugar consumption, and cooking oil products.

"For buffalo meat, it is sold at a price of IDR 75,000/kg, IDR 15,000/kg of consumption sugar, and cooking oil IDR 14,700/lt. As directed by the President, none of them exceeds HET," he said.

Sis Apik said that currently ID FOOD has started supplying food products as well as participating in market operations at Post Offices in a number of districts. His party then detailed the location of market operations supplied and held ID FOOD in the early stages of implementation before fasting, including Serang and Tangerang for Banten provinces.

As for the Special Region of Jakarta, it includes Central, South, and East Jakarta. As for the provinces of West Java, including Bekasi, Bogor, Bandung, Cirebon, and Karawang.

Central Java and Yogyakarta provinces include Semarang, Kudus, Purwokerto, Solo, Yogyakarta, and Pekalongan. East Java provinces include Madiun, Malang, Surabaya, Sidoarjo, and Jember.

Regarding commodity stocks prepared for market operations, he explained, currently for sugar commodities, ID FOOD consumption prepares around 7,000 tons of stock, buffalo meat prepares around 9,000 tons of stock, and for cooking oil with the brand Oilita ID FOOD gets a distribution quota of 70,000 tons which will be optimized at 20,000-50,000 tons during fasting and Eid.

During a review of market operations, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman reminded that basic commodities sold in market operations are only for public consumption and are not traded again. For this reason, a number of mechanisms have been prepared so that market operations run smoothly and are on target.

One of them is by applying purchases using an identity number (KTP) that is entered into the system. This is done to limit purchases repeatedly and on a large scale.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Trade Budi Santoso ensured that the market operations program would continue to be intensified to ensure food prices remain affordable for the community. The Minister of Trade also appealed to the public not to worry about the availability of basic commodities.

He ensured that the government would act quickly if there were indications of scarcity or unreasonable price increases.

Head of the National Food Agency Arief Prasetyo Adi said this market operation was in accordance with President Prabowo's orders so that the public during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr could get cheaper staple food prices.

"So this is how we reduce and maintain availability, namely by getting closer to the community as consumers. God willing, prices can be controlled," he continued.

For information, the Cheap Food Market Operation will take place from February 24, 2025 to March 29, 2025. Currently, market operations are being carried out at 215 post offices on the island of Java, 110 post offices outside Java, and will be massive up to 4,500 post office outlets throughout Indonesia.

In addition, the Food SOE network and 88 Technical Implementation Units of the Ministry of Agriculture will be used as locations for market operations. This Market Operation involves the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of SOEs, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the National Food Agency, and the Food Task Force.

The food supply is provided by a number of farmer associations and commodity entrepreneurs, as well as Food SOEs such as Perum BULOG, ID FOOD, PTPN, PT Berdikari, and PT PPI at a lower price than HET.
