Towards The End Of His Term Of Office, Erick Thohir Has Started Cleaning The Office House

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir admitted that he had assigned his team to clean up his official residence ahead of the end of his term of office as minister in October.

For your information, the government of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will switch to President-elect Prabowo Subianto on October 20, 2024.

Likewise, the term of office of the ministers who are members of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet will end in October.

"I've asked my team to start cleaning the official house. Yes, yes, that's part of the commitment and responsibility?," he said when met at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Monday, September 2.

Erick also did not forget to thank the working partners of the Ministry of SOEs, namely Commission VI, who have been providing political support regarding their steps.

Erick emphasized that currently his party will only focus on working until the end of his term of office. He said that whoever will be appointed as a replacement for the Minister of SOEs is Prabowo Subianto's prerogative as the elected president in 2024-2029.

"Whoever the minister is in the future is the president's prerogative. If I commit to finish until October," he explained.

When asked if he was ready to be reappointed as Minister of SOEs, Erick admitted that he was reluctant to comment.

"Oh, I don't want to comment on something that hasn't been there yet," he said.

On this occasion, Erick also revealed that he had met President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to provide a report regarding the results of his 5 years as Minister of SOEs.

Erick also thanked President Jokowi for trusting him to lead the Ministry of SOEs.

"I have reported publicly, good data to Commission VI, both to Mr. President Jokowi. I have met him, I have reported it. I thank Mr. Jokowi too, to trust us all to be able to work," he said.
