Mike Shinoda Reveals Reasons Brad Delson Didn't Join Linkin Park Reunion Tour

JAKARTA - Mike Shinoda (vocals, guitar) spoke of the reason for the absence of Brad Delson (guitar) on the Linkin Park reunion tour that had been going on from September to November.

As is known, Linkin Park is back active after announcing Emily Armstrong (vocals) and Colin Brittain (additional drums) as new personnel through shows in Los Angeles in early September.

Furthermore, Linkin Park held a world tour by holding performances in the United States, Germany, Britain, South Korea, and Colombia.

Of all the shows that have been passed, Delson is not present on stage. His position was replaced by Alex Feder.

Shinoda also revealed the reason Brad Delson has not appeared for Linkin Park after announcing new personnel.

"If anyone doesn't understand the dynamics, our guitarist, Brad, is our guitarist. He's in this band," said Mike Shinode, citing his interview at Zach Song Show, Monday, November 18.

"It's kind of a mental health problem. He doesn't like live tours and lifestyles. So, he's our guitarist, but he doesn't play in person," he continued.

Shinoda said that it was Delson himself who chose Feder as his successor.

"So, he chose. He found a man named Alex who was spectacular, a very good guitarist, and they were very suitable, and Brad chose Alex to play his part in person," said the 47-year-old frontman.

"But at that time, we haven't met Alex yet, so we asked Colin. I thought, 'Brad needs someone to play guitar, and we need a drummer. You're both good at what you want to do?' And he's like a kid at a candy shop. I thought he said, 'I can't believe what you're asking now.' He's so excited. "
