ASDP Increases The Role And Port Of Women's Leadership In Companies

JAKARTA - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) continues to increase the role and share of women's leadership in supporting the positive business performance of the company, as well as actively contributing to sustainable economic growth in Indonesia.

ASDP Corporate Secretary Shelvy Arifin said, currently there are a total of 365 female employees or Srikandi ASDP who are actively contributing to the smooth operation of the company.

The ASDP Srikandi, he continued, include marine employees, who occupy positions as Mualim I and III, which are given to a licensed seafarer and are the highest positions under the captain.

"A musim is responsible to the captain for safety, security, and of course excellent service during the crossing on board," Shelvy said in her statement, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, May 21.

Srikandi ASDP's strategic role is also shown from the contribution of women who occupy the leadership position at the high level management of around 20 percent. Even now, the BUMN is also led by a woman, Ira Puspadewi, as President Director since 2017.

Shelvy added that ASDP opens the same opportunities for each individual to show their best performance and achieve maximum levels, especially in the shipping industry.

"Empowerment is when everyone has a wider choice and the same opportunity to achieve the highest goal," he said.

Meanwhile, ASDP President Director Ira Puspadewi added that in 2022 the company managed to score the highest profit of all time since the company was founded in the amount of IDR 585 billion, with a total revenue of IDR 4.38 trillion.

This profit achievement reached 220.8 percent of the target and experienced 79.4 percent growth from profit in 2021 of IDR 326 billion.

In addition, the company has succeeded in carrying out business transformation and a number of strategic steps, including improving operations and improving the business process which is increasingly effective and efficient, including digitizing ticketing across ASDP ports.

"Management continues to accelerate and strengthen the company's business. One of them is focusing on implementing business models that strengthen inorganic growth and also implementing strategic cooperation with external parties," he said.

According to him, ASDP supports the direction of SOE Minister Erick Thohir that state-owned companies must create an inclusive work environment for anyone regardless of gender or other backgrounds.
