Electric Motorcycle Company Will Groundbreaking Factory In Karawang Next Week

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) said that there will be a groundbreaking for a new electric motorcycle factory (molis) in Indonesia next week, Monday, May 13.

Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry Eko S. A. Cahyanto said the groundbreaking location was in Karawang, West Java.

"Tomorrow Monday there is a new factory that wants to groundbreaking in Karawang. An electric motorcycle factory. Tomorrow Monday, the electric motorcycle factory will start groundbreaking, starting to build a factory in Karawang of around 54 hectares (ha)," said Eko during a media gathering at the Ministry of Industry's office, Tuesday, May 7.

When asked further which state or brand, Eko was reluctant to provide further information. "Later, yes. I already know. Later, (journalists) will be invited," he said.

Although he did not provide further information, Eko emphasized that the electric motorcycle brand had been traded in Indonesia. However, its production is still abroad. So, so far, Indonesia is still importing.

"He has sold (in Indonesia), but is still imported. They are still testing the market. They are confident that our market is big, our policy is strong, the facilities are there. They want to invest, don't they," he added.
